Doctor In The Kitchen® was founded by Alison Levitt M.D., a holistic medical doctor, and Donn Kelly a food marketer. Doctor In The Kitchen® incorporates Alison’s wisdom of health and her passion for nutrition with the belief that, “Good food is wise medicine”. Alison created flackers® in early 2005 for her clients who were looking for a super-healthy, gluten free, sugar free snack. Joining forces in 2007, Donn and Alison bring this fabulous product and healthy line of delicious food to you!

Our Story

Eating healthy and staying fit is my passion. This is why I developed flackers, for myself and my clients. I hope that you love them as much as we do.


Dr. In The Kitchen was founded in 2007 with the intention of creating super healthy foods for people who want to be healthy, eat right and feel great. It started when Alison created flackers® in 2005 for her clients. They loved them and encouraged her to bring them to market. Alison is a medical doctor specializing in integrative medicine (a mind, body, spirit approach to health). While jogging through a local dogpark she ran into Donn walking his dog. Donn was a marketing consultant with a food background and was looking for a product to market. As fate would have it they met, and decided to bring flackers® to market. They initially rented space within a bakery, making small batches by hand and selling to local co-op grocery stores. Since flackers® sold well, Donn and Alison took a leap of faith, rented their own commercial space, where they are still made by hand and continue to sell well. That’s the beginning of the story…stay tuned for more good things and products to come!
